The Fieldcraft Survival Fire NOW Steel is perfect for the homestead or mobility platform. Utilizing magnesium as tinder and a ferro rod as an ignition source, the Fire NOW can be used to light thousands of fires. Simply scrape the magnesium rod into a quarter coin size amount of shavings with the included scraper and spark it with the attached ferrocerium rod. This fire starter can be immersed in water for extended periods of time, wiped dry, and used immediately. The large wooden handle can be used comfortably with gloved hands and it serves as an emergency source of fuel in a pinch.
