How do you survive when weather conditions turn sour? What can you do to improve your odds when the deck is stacked against you? You need the right combination of skills and gear. This course is taught by former USAF SERE Instructor Mike Lowe. Mike has been teaching survival skills for over 30 years and has been featured on the show ALONE. He will cover proven methods of survival in austere conditions. Additionally, this course will provide you with a better understanding of:

-Equipment selection for cold and/or wet weather

-Wet-weather fire starting

-Cold-weather planning

-Natural tinder selection

-A frame and low profile shelter construction

-Water procurement and treatment

-Knife and tool use

-Emergency Land Navigation

Participants should bring a basic kit with the following:

-Clothing to train in all conditions

-Water bottle and snacks

-Multi-tool or Swiss Army Knife and small fixed blade (MORA or Equivalent)

-Ferro rod

-100’ Paracord

-Small tarp (5’x7’ minimum)

-Notebook and pen/pencil
