Becoming a responsible citizen is an important part of living in this great country. With our freedoms come responsibilities.

The Responsible Citizen program is a new statewide program that we are launching which consists of a series of courses designed to cultivate citizens that are prepared and capable as well as building a stronger community. These free events will be hosted by Austin Lester, a Fieldcraft Survival instructor and Wasatch County Search and Rescue team member, as well as other Fieldcraft Survival and guest instructors. 

We will work together alongside our first responders to instruct and guide you. Skills we will cover will include Land Navigation and Lost Proofing, First Aid and CPR, Basic Survival, Trained Observer, and more. The goal is to create a stronger relationship between our first responders and our citizens and together strengthen the community.

This course will give you the foundations in basic wilderness survival. Topics covered will include:

  • Survival Mindset
  • Building your Survival Kit
  • Knot Tying
  • Environmental Conditions
  • Building a Shelter
  • Food and Water Procurement
  • And much more!
