Bug Out Basics is here to help everyday people develop the self-sufficiency they need in unpredictable situations. This engaging, family-friendly course is designed to equip you with the foundational skills to be prepared, while also helping you adopt the mindset that makes preparedness second nature.

From survival essentials to basic medical and defensive strategies, we’ll cover the core skills you need. You’ll also dive into communications and navigation, learning how to stay connected and find your way in challenging environments. Plus, we’ll hit the trail in your own vehicle, where you’ll explore the fundamentals of off-roading and discover its capabilities. If you already have experience with off-roading or prefer to observe, you’re welcome to skip the driving portion and learn by watching others.

At the core of this course is our belief that you are your own first response—by building these essential skills, you’ll be ready to take control in any situation.

What to expect:

• One vehicle covers all your passengers, so bring the whole family—just make sure any children are old enough to engage in the activities and not distract from the learning.
• Hands-on learning in survival, medical, defensive, communications, and navigation fundamentals.
• Off-roading instruction to help you navigate obstacles and understand your vehicle’s capabilities. (Optional to participate if you already have off-road experience.)
• Learn how to prioritize and layer gear and skills for maximum effectiveness.
• Bring your own lunch to enjoy out on the trail.
