Fieldcraft Survival Basic Pistol

Basic Pistol is designed for the new gun owner who desires to learn the fundamental elements of safely using a handgun and is step 1 in the Fieldcraft Pistol Series. During this course, students will gain comfort and familiarity with their handgun in a stress-free environment, while strictly adhering to the four firearm safety rules. Basic Pistol provides a solid foundation of skills to increase your personal preparedness. Whether you are a novice or have some prior experience, this course will equip you with the necessary tools to become a responsible and confident pistol owner. Students who complete this course will be prepared to take Defensive Pistol.

  • Firearm safety and handling
  • Range safety
  • Gear selection and setup
  • Nomenclature
  • Maintenance and care
  • Loading and unloading procedures
  • Zeroing (If appropriate for red dot-equipped pistols)
  • Fundamentals of marksmanship

 

Required Gear:

  • 250 rounds ammunition
  • Pistol
  • 3 magazines
  • 2 magazine carriers
  • Pistol belt
  • Outside waistband holster (OWB)
  • Eye protection
  • Ear protection
  • Snacks and water
  • Rain/cold/inclement weather clothing and sturdy shoes

 

Pre-Requisites

There are no pre-requisites or recommended courses to take before Basic Pistol.  This is an entry level course that will build your skills from the ground up.
