Fieldcraft Survival Defensive Carbine
Defensive Carbine focuses on the effective use of the carbine for defense and is step 2 in the Fieldcraft Carbine Series. This training increases the application of marksmanship fundamentals through positional shooting and progressively challenging courses of fire. This class is designed for those with a solid understanding of safety and weapon handling and will aid the shooter in preparing to use this platform in a defensive encounter. Participants must demonstrate proper firearm handling, range safety, and weapon familiarity.

Required Gear:
- 350 rounds ammunition
- Carbine
- Weapon site
- Sling
- 3 magazines
- 2 magazine carriers (belt or vest)
- Gloves
- Eye protection
- Ear protection
- Snacks and water, as we will break for lunch
- Comfortable clothing and sturdy shoes appropriate for the weather and environment
Pre-Requisites
Basic Carbine: While it is not required for you to take the Basic Carbine course prior to Defensive Carbine, you must be able to demonstrate the skills learned in Basic Carbine. This amounts to safe handling of a rifle under live-fire circumstances. This is NOT an entry level course but one that builds your skills off of a foundation of safety and proper foundation learned in Basic Carbine. If you are competent handling a carbine safely on a range in a live-fire setting, you will be able to take Defensive Carbine.
How to get the most out of the course:
This course generally runs 5 hours (0900-1400) but be sure to check the specific course page for detailed schedule for your specific date and location as time and length may vary based on specific circumstances.
