Fieldcraft Survival Defensive Pistol
Defensive Pistol focuses on the effective use of the handgun for defense and is step 2 in the Fieldcraft Pistol Series. This dynamic training increases the application of marksmanship fundamentals through positional shooting and progressively challenging courses of fire. This course is designed for those with a solid understanding of safety and weapon handling and will aid the shooter in preparing to use this platform in a defensive encounter. Participants must demonstrate proper firearm handling, range safety, and weapon familiarity.

Required Gear:
- 350 rounds ammunition
- Pistol
- Pistol belt
- 3 magazines
- 2 magazine carriers (belt or vest)
- Outside waistband holster (OWB)
- Eye protection
- Ear protection
- Snacks and water, as we will break for lunch
- Comfortable clothing and sturdy shoes appropriate for the weather and environment
Pre-Requisites
Basic Pistol: While it is not required for you to take the course, you must be able to demonstrate the skills learned in Basic Pistol. This amounts to safe handling of a gun under live-fire circumstances. This is NOT an entry level course but one that builds your skills off of a foundation of safety and proper foundation learned in Basic Pistol. If you are competent handling a handgun safely on a range in a live-fire setting, you will be able to take Defensive Pistol.
How to get the most out of the course:
This course generally runs 5 hours (0900-1400) but be sure to check the specific course page for detailed schedule for your specific date and location as time and length may vary based on specific circumstances.
