Edible and Medicinal Plants Workshop

This course will teach you the fundamentals of wild medicinal and edible plant identification and many of the most abundant medicinal and edible plants of the Sandhills. During classroom time, you will learn botanical terminology, the identifying characteristics of common plant families, and how to forage safely and sustainably. During the practical part of the class, we will go outside to locate various plants that can be harvested for use as medicine and food, learn how to process each, and any potential dangerous look-alikes. This class is taught by herbalist and holistic health coach Kate Smith of Made Whole.
