Fieldcraft Survival Wilderness Survival Overnight

This 2-Day course taught by Fieldcraft Survival Instructors combines modern, traditional, and primitive bushcraft and survival skills. This course provides training in the area of mindset and preparation as well as hands-on experience learning with knives, fire starters, cordage, shelter materials, signaling devices, water treatment, camp cooking, hunting/fishing/trapping tools, and more. This course is grounded in the emergency night-out scenario and students are encouraged to test their abilities in an emergency shelter they construct. Students can alternatively select to spend the night in a tent, hammock, hotel, or whatever accommodations they bring/arrange. This class provides students the opportunity to test out any emergency gear in a semi-controlled setting and share a fire where additional informal training and conversation will take place until approximately 9 p.m. Students are responsible for packing their own meals and packing out all garbage. Approximately 20 hours of instruction is provided over the course of 2 days.

We recommend wearing comfortable shoes and packing clothing that is appropriate for outdoor activities in the environment. Additional clothing (wet-weather gear and warmer layers) should be considered if precipitation is expected.
