Defensive Shotgun | Defense

The versatile shotgun is paramount in personal and homestead safety. Defensive Shotgun is step two in the Fieldcraft Survival Shotgun Series. This course moves beyond basic safety handling to decision-making and provides the student with a better understanding of the capability of the shotgun. You will gain the confidence necessary to protect your homestead with a shotgun through the instruction of immediate action, sling use, select slug drill, bilateral shooting, slug walk back to 100 yds, 3x3 left to right targets, standing, kneeling, seated, and prone shoot off. This course is for those who can competently operate their firearm and require little to no fundamental training.

• Handle malfunctions
• Movement with their shotgun
• Use alternative shooting positions 
• Engage targets at various ranges
• Multiple targets and stress shoots
• Timed Fieldcraft Survival Shotgun Standards

Required Gear:

• Modern, functioning shotgun in 12, or 20 gauge. (Pump, single-shot, double-barrel, or semi-auto) ie: Remington 870 or Mossberg 590
• Compatible ammunition
• Ammunition: 125 Birdshot, 25 slugs, NO BUCKSHOT
• Minimum 5 Dummy Rounds
• Ammunition management systems such as a small belt pouch or deep pockets
• Eye and ear protection
• Sling
• IFAK/BHK w/ tourniquet
• Snacks, water, and lunch
• Comfortable clothing and sturdy shoes appropriate for the weather and environment

18+ years and older can purchase a spot and join the course. They must be accompanied by an adult who has purchased a ticket as well.
